Born in Imola, in the north of Italy, I starting to make short films in high school with a group of peers. In 2006, thanks to a scholarship, I had the honor to attend the UCLA School of Film and TV where I wrote and directed two narrative and one documentary short films. Back to Italy, I graduated in Communication Science at University of Bologna with a final dissertation about the transgender imagery of the Italian television. At the same time I started to work as film programmer for Gender Bender Festival in Bologna.

Since 2007 I have been working as production assistant, second assistant director on feature films and filmmaking teacher. In 2008 I started to work as filmmaker/camera operator for TV productions. In the same year I enrolled the Directing Program at Centro Sperimentale, National School of Cinema in Rome. There, I directed several short films both using HD technologies and 35mm film. During film school, under the supervision of the director Paolo Sorrentino, I wrote the script of a feature film that won’t ever be made. Nevertheless, he inspired my work and I consider him my Maestro. My thesis film was a feature length documentary shot in Kenya.

After film school I kept on working as filmmaker and director for TV docu-series broadcasted on MTV and Rai. In 2012 I directed a documentary about professional poker players: "Generazione d'azzardo" with the support of the Italian Ministery of Culture.

In 2014, I was awarded with two screenwriting prizes: Premio Solinas Storie per il Cinema – special mention for the feature film story entitled “Not afraid to die”, and Premio Tonino Guerra for the script of the thriller “The Hold” aquired by Colorado Film. In the same year, together with two other writers/directors, I won the first prize of the contest "Are you series?" held by Milano Film Festival which then produced our web-series: "STATUS".

In 2016 I worked as a writer for Filmmaster - MEA, for the branded docu-series “Maggi diaries 3” airing on Arabian Network MBC1. My first narrative feature film: "Zen - in the ice rift" produced by Articolture Bologna and Biennale di Venezia, won the Biennale College Cinema 2017/2018 production grant. The film premiered at 75° Venice Film Festival in 2018.
